Helen Keller was born June 27, 1880 and died June 1, 1968. She was born in Tuscumbia, AL. She worked as a famous teacher that was blind and deaf. Some of her great accomplishments were learning how to put up with her self being blind deaf and not being able to speak. Important facts about her are that she lost her abilities to be able to hear see or see when she was only 18 months old. She could talk and walk by the age of 1 year old. Helen had a 49 year relationship as a best friend with her teacher Ann Sullivan. In 1961 she suffered a series of strokes. She was the inspiration to invent brail and sign launguage. Helen died in her sleep on June 1st, 1968 just a few weeks before her 88th birthday. The reasons our lives are better today because of Helen Keller is because without her we would not have brail, and also she proved that you can do anything that you are determinded to do.
